To say life has been painful for Rhonda Thill lately is an understatement. After losing her husband of 18 years, Randy Thill, in a tragic motorcycle crash last month, a group of bikers stepped up in the most incredible way.
Rhonda received Randy’s personal items from the accident just days after his death. As she went through the items her husband had during the accident that ended his life, she realized his wedding ring was missing.
Rhonda knew her husband had been wearing it during his final moments and was desperate to find the wedding ring. It’s naturally the most comforting reminder she had of Randy.
Word spread quickly through Rhonda’s local biker community of the lost wedding ring from Randy’s tragic accident. The new widow was unaware the bikers were joining together to find the ring. The tight-knit biker group was not going to let Rhonda endure more pain during her journey with grief.
A group of bikers went to the crash scene to search for the priceless wedding ring. After 45 minutes of searching, the gold ring was spotted by one of the bikers. Once they realized it matched Rhonda’s description of the ring, they hopped on their motorcycles and delivered the timeless treasure to the widow.
“The group of people that worked to get the ring for me, they’re bikers. And a lot of the times they get a bad rep,” Rhonda said. “[But they] have the biggest hearts in the world,” she said. “They are the first ones to step up and lend a hand when it’s needed.”
The return of Randy’s wedding ring is a significant reminder that their love will never end. This comfort would not have been possible without the kindness of the bikers. Rhonda is able to cope a little better now.
“It was probably the first time since Randy’s death I had an actual smile on my face, after I stopped crying, because I was so happy about it,” Rhonda said.
