When This 5-Year-Old Saw The Riots On TV, His Response To The Police Offers Changed My Life

There was an alarming uproar in Charlotte North Carolina when a riot broke out last year. The press swarmed the city and didn’t let anything get by. But one small little boy did something that the people of Charlotte never saw coming.

News about the horrific events surrounding the violent riot was inescapable. It was plastered on the front page of every newspaper and broadcasted on the radio. It was virtually impossible to avoid the topic.

Children were no exception to this. They heard it all. Nothing gets past those little eyes and ears.

One Charlotte resident, Deanna Hooker and her son Jayden were devastated by the events that took place. It saddened them to hear harsh and hateful things about the men in blue that live to protect their city.

Deanna wasn’t sure how her son was going to process what went on so close to home. She was taken back when Jayden at only 5-years-old asked her if he could do something for the police officers.

Jayden’s mother calls him an “old soul” and this is why- he wanted to go give each and every police officer in their town a hug and a donut.

And Jayden did just that. Deanna took him down to the police station and let him work his magic. The officers were shocked by the gratitude that exuded from this little boy.

Jayden left the officers speechless, some even in tears when he indeed gave everyone a hug and a donut.

Jayden shares, “I’m happy the police officers didn’t get really hurt. I want you to stay safe and I don’t want anybody to hurt you.”

This gesture may seem small, but in the midst of hard times, that is just what the police men and women needed. And Jayden’s heart to love on the people that protect him and his family is touching.

Let Jayden be a shining example of what it means to come together and be a light in this seemingly dark world. Please share this precious story with everyone!
