Hollywood gets a lot of flak for being overly liberal and hostile of traditional Christian beliefs, but there may be more devoutly Christian stars than you think.
Here is a life of just seven of the most famous devout Christians in Hollywood or the realm of massive fame.
7. Mario Lopez

Actor Mario Lopez recently traveled to the Holy Land as part of his “bucket list.” While in Israel, Lopez got baptized in the Jordan River — the same river where Jesus Christ was baptized.
“We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I’m about to get baptized,” Lopez, said in one of the videos. “It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”
The former “Saved by the Bell” actor emerged from the water a new man and was applauded by onlookers who sang Christian hymns like “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”
6. David Carr

The former Houston Texans star quarterback isn’t as public about his faith as former football star Tim Tebow, but he isn’t shy about it either.
In his Twitter bio, Carr lists “Jesus” as the first passion in his life. Football comes third.
“Jesus. Family. Football. The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man,” it reads.
Carr also routinely tweets Bible verses.
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Carr’s brother, Derek Carr, is currently the starting quarterback for the Oakland Raiders and he’s living for Christ too. The current NFL quarterback revealed last season that he prayed while his teammates took a knee for the national anthem. As for him, he stands for the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
“I don’t have the answers, but I know everyday I just go out and love people. There’s not any person that I met that I don’t love. Some people may get under my skin a little bit but I still love them,” Derek Carr said.
5. Carrie Underwood
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood was recently asked about the most important things in her life — and her massive singing career didn’t top the list.
Underwood said her relationship with Jesus Christ and her role as a wife and mother are infinitely more important to her. She definitely has her priorities straight.
“I grew up in church and have a wonderful family that always supported that,” Underwood told Fox News back in 2011. “I grew up going to church camp and reading my bible and having different faith books and movies in my life.”
4. Candace Cameron-Bure
The former “Full House” star and ex-host of “The View” was asked just this year to reveal the secret behind her successful 22-year marriage — and she said the answer is simple: Jesus.
“The reality is the glue for us is Jesus,” Bure told People Magazine. “It’s the Bible. You know, when there are arguments or we’re compromising and in ways, it’s always like, ‘Well, let’s just go back to the Bible.’ It’s the foundation for us. So it’s not about winning or losing. But doing this journey together.”
That’s not something Hollywood generally promotes as the key to a good marriage. Then again, many Hollywood romances don’t last.
3. Mark Wahlberg
Hollywood megastar Mark Wahlberg may have a troubled past with his rambunctious youth, but he now leans on God for wisdom and guidance.
“I pray every day and try to go to church every day. My faith in God is what makes me a better man,” he said in an interview with Square Mile. “It’s the most important part of my life. I pray that I will live up to my intention to be the best husband and father than I can be.”
Wahlberg is also a big supporter of America’s military veterans.
2. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
They are one of the most biggest Hollywood power couples around, but it still wasn’t enough to shield them from the trials and tribulations that life throws at us sometimes.
Hanks stood by his wife’s side as she battled cancer and underwent a “bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction for breast cancer after a diagnosis of invasive lobular carcinoma,” the actress said.
The couple’s faith ended up helping them navigate the trying times.
“God is a part of my life. Every single day,” Rita said previously of their marriage. “I prayed to God for I don’t know how many years that he would bring me somebody that I loved […] that loved me in the same way, and he brought me Tom, so I believe in that.”
1. Jim Caviezel
It seems like actor Jim Caviezel’s entire life changed after he took the career-defining role of Jesus in the hit film “Passion of the Christ.”
In fact, he said God spoke to him while he was on the cross in the iconic scene.
“When [God] came close to me in ‘The Passion’ when I was on that cross, [He said], ‘They don’t love me. There are very few,’” Caviezel told the Christian Post. “That’s why our Lord is so alone — His creatures do not love Him. And, He could force Himself on us, but would that be love? I don’t think so.”
Caviezel says he now intentionally selects roles to “bring the most souls” back to God.
