“The weight of the evidence is clear,” began Environmental Health Trust President Dr. Devras Davis, “cell phones do cause brain cancer.”

Over the years there have been reports and speculation about whether or not using a cell phone is bad for your health. According to researchers in Baltimore, it turns out that using a cell phone could have dangerous consequences.

Dr. Davis says that children are at the greatest risk of suffering serious side effects of cell phone use, stating that children absorb twice the amount of radiation in their heads compared to adults.

Yale School of Medicine’s Dr. Hugh Taylor commented on the research, “There’s a correlation between cell phone use in pregnancy and behavioral problems in their children.” Dr. Davis went on to further state that even having a phone near you while pregnant could leave your unborn baby vulnerable.

“Keep the phone away from the abdomen — especially toward the end of pregnancy.”

Young children are impacted by cell phones as well, as oftentimes a parent will pay attention to their devices more than their kids. Clinical psychologist Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair discusses that aspect of phone usage:

“These devices are really stressing and straining our family relationships because the average mom or dad will check their phones 60 to 110 times a day.”

Aside from avoiding over usage, experts recommend that people start using headsets, and earpieces, in order to keep their phones as far away from their heads as possible. Even keeping your phone a few inches away from your face will help a bit.

Dr. Martha Hebert says, “We’re getting like a triple, quadruple whammy between the biological effect, the psychological effects and the brain waves effects.” In today’s high-tech world, it seems as though these effects are unavoidable.

While the evidence clearly shows a link between cell phone usage, and growing health problems (like cancer) many researchers around the world say the United States is lagging behind when it comes to radiation prevention.

I know that we all use our cell phones all the time. Chances are, you are reading this on your phone RIGHT NOW. Clearly, this information needs to be seen by EVERYONE, as we are all potentially at risk of doing some serious damage to ourselves. The problem is, most people DON’T KNOW!

So, go out and get yourself a headset, or some earbuds, and stop putting yourself at risk! Who would’ve guessed that all these gadgets would come with really bad side effects?
