As Final Episode of ‘Fixer Upper’ Airs, Chip and Joanna Gaines Tell America the Truth

Chip and Joanna Gaines watched with the rest of America on Tuesday as the final episode of “Fixer Upper” aired on HGTV. The beloved couple live-tweeted during the episode, telling fans the truth about how they feel about the show ending after all these years.

“Jo and I can’t believe we’re watching the last episode of #FixerUpper Who’s watching with us?,” Chip Gaines tweeted.

But it was when he watched himself on TV taking part in the last “demo day” that the waterworks started.

“Last #demoday I’m not crying, you’re crying,” he added, clearly upset he would no longer be taking part in his trademark home demolition antics for the cameras.

Joanna Gaines responded in apparent disbelief that their wild ride on “Fixer Upper” had finally come to an end.

“We love you guys!!! Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. What a ride,” she tweeted.

Chip made sure to send out a special thank you to Clinton Harp, the talented carpenter that fans watched create furniture for the renovated homes.

“So thankful for our buddy Clinton Harp who’s been with us from the beginning. Always there when we need him,” Chip tweeted.

Don’t worry, the Gaines family isn’t disappearing from the public eye completely. They still have their very successful Magnolia Store in Waco, Texas. Plus, their Magnolia brand is popping up everywhere too, including Target and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

“And that’s a wrap! #FixerUpper family we are forever grateful for your support over the last 5 seasons. Don’t worry.. you can always find us here @magnolia in Waco!” he wrote.

They had a great run. Best of luck to Chip and Joanna Gaines in the future!
