It’s hard to believe it’s been more than 3 years since Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was murdered at a shooting range in Texas.
In a recent interview, his widow Taya Kyle revealed how her Christian faith has helped her survive the grief.
When I learned everything Taya has been through since her husband’s tragic death, I realized God was using her in extraordinary ways.
“We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:3-5
“The truth is, I couldn’t survive [Chris’ death] without my faith and if we’re open to it, when we struggle, we can still see how God can make something good out of it. Maybe not what you wanted but still something that’s a blessing,” Taya said.
In the interview, Taya also explained the importance of Biblical marriage values: it’s essential to keep God as a couple’s first priority, the marriage second, then kids third.
Although she lost Chris due to an unexpected tragedy, Taya revealed she never got angry at God. Despite her grief, Taya was able to find peace and strength by trusting in God’s plan.
“God promises free will,” she explained. “He’ll bring beauty through the ashes.”

“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
