Brenna Spencer, a senior at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, became an overnight sensation when she posed for her graduation photo with a handgun tucked into her waistband.
She posted the photo on Twitter over the weekend with the caption, “I don’t take normal college graduation photos.”

In the photo, seen above, Spencer is also wearing a “Women for Trump” shirt that she is lifting up to reveal her firearm.
In an interview with ABC News, Spencer said she was surprised by how much attention her pro-gun photo has gotten.
“I did think that it would get a little attention but not to this degree,” she said. She also admitted it was “really, really surprising to see the amount of hate that I got.”

While Spencer also received plenty of supportive comments, she is now trying to “stay off the comments” after seeing how much hate was pouring in.
Responding to critics who have questioned the legality of her gun-carrying, Spencer said she carries “everywhere” that she is permitted to carry a firearm.
Do you support Spencer’s senior photo choice?
