While watching Hillsong United praise Jesus on the TODAY show, it’s impossible to not feel the presence of God.
Hillsong United, the world-renowned worship band that originated as a part of Hillsong Church in Australia, gave God all the glory in front of millions of people when they performed their popular praise anthem, “Oceans.”
As lead vocalist Taya Smith led the worship band with her flawless gift of singing, co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb stood in awe with tears in their eyes.
While listening to the lyrics, you must remember that millions of people watching the TODAY show were witnessing the beauty of salvation.
“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders,
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me.
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander,
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior.
Oh, Jesus, you’re my God!
I will call upon Your name,
Keep my eyes above the waves;
My soul will rest in Your embrace,
I am Yours and You are mine.” – Oceans by Hillsong United
It’s impossible to pick a favorite part of Hillsong’s powerful performance. The group was on a press tour for their new documentary, Hillsong: Let Hope Rise.
After watching them praise Jesus on the TODAY show, my hopes for a revival were restored.
“Everything we do represents the heart of God,” says guitarist Joel Houston. “I believe that God created music for the sole purpose to connect the human heart, our soul, with heaven.”
