New York City is known for a lot of things. But just recently, amidst Times Square’s flashing lights, noisy streets, and honking cars, a beautiful sound arose.
Smack dab in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities, one young lady by the name of Lauren Daigle began praising God. And as others joined in worship, a rare and beautiful sound arose. As their unashamed praises resounded, it was as if the rest of the world faded to gray.
Kicking off the new year, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Lafayette, Louisiana, brought the Gospel to the heart of New York City as she sang several worship songs on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
As I was watching this young, unashamed Christian proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ on national television, I couldn’t help but be reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14, which reads,
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
I promise, you don’t want to miss this. Watch Lauren Daigle perform “Trust In You” live in Times Square:
Wasn’t that just beautiful? It’s truly a little glimpse of heaven!
Daigle told Billboard last month that she’s currently writing and preparing for her next album, but despite her busy schedule, she prays that her eyes would remained fixed on Christ.
Daigle shared, “I want to be a good steward and make sure what’s in my heart is what God wants, and then once it’s done and released, at that point it’s up to God and what he does on the back end,” she said. “I sincerely find joy in not knowing.”
Thank you, Lauren Daigle, for reminding us that Jesus Christ is our nation’s only hope! Now more than ever, we must join together in prayer for our beloved country. May God turn the hearts of our leaders and heal our land. May God Bless America!
