A 10-year-old girl is restoring hope to many Americans for the future in the most inspiring way. This made my day!
When someone approaches us upon entering the grocery store, most of us tend to walk faster and dismiss the person immediately; because they’re most likely selling something we don’t need or requesting donations for a charity we’re skeptical of.
However, despite the constant rejection this West Sacramento girl was getting, she continued to persevere and spread the message of her new philanthropy project — and if you happen to give her a minute of your time, your life will not only change forever, but you could also change the life of another stranger in the most heartwarming way.
When 10-year-old Leah Nelson approaches people as they enter the grocery store, she’s not asking for money. What Leah is asking for is much simpler than that…
Leah started “Becuz I Care”, a program encouraging people to perform random acts of kindness. From buying a coffee to simply giving a compliment, the acts of kindness are sealed with a bracelet, made with love by Leah. The bracelet is to be passed from person to person as each individual does a good deed for another.
When adults realize why the fifth-grader is stopping them, they’re blown away by her initiative. While listening to this young lady speak, it’s clear she’s wise beyond her years too.
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” – Proverbs 31:26
However, Leah sees this project as basic human decency.
“I just want the world to be a better place. I mean there’s many issues and people are mad about the issues, and if you’re mad about the issues, why don’t you take action to try and change them?” she says.

With all the negative news surrounding us lately, positive stories like this truly lift our spirits. If everyone could dedicate themselves to kindness as much as Leah Nelson has, the world would be a much better place.
