I’ve heard this old song half a dozen times, but when I listened to this jaw-dropping a cappella rendition, I just couldn’t hold back the tears.

The famous lyrics “come, all ye faithful, . . . to Bethlehem” invite both the shepherds who rushed to see Christ the child, as well as each of us today– over 2o00 years later — to worship Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

The old Christmas carol has been covered by countless singers. But Pentatonix’s unique spin on “O Come All Ye Faithful” is different — to say the least.

Pentatonix is a singing group comprised of five talented singers — and yes, you read that right. This group doesn’t use any instruments at all! Instead, this gifted quintet creates their unique sound and background “music” using only their voices.

Pentatonix was originally formed by five friends who grew up together in Texas. The group eventually made their big debut on NBC’s singing competition The Sing Off. The talented singers went on to win the competition, earning them $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony Music.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:10-14
