“That’s the best you got?” Trey Gowdy Embarrasses Gruber On His Insulting Comments About Americans

Trey Gowdy is at it again! This time he’s set his prosecutorial skills on Jonathan Gruber AKA The Obamacare Architect. By now everyone knows that the Affordable Care Act was one of the biggest frauds a government has ever tried to pull over on its citizens.

Jonathan Gruber has been under fire because of video surfacing of him demeaning the American public and their intelligence when it comes to voting.

Mr. Gowdy opens up with a shot across Mr. Gruber’s bow,

“What did you mean when you said, ‘They proposed it and it passed because the American people are too stupid to know the difference.”

Gruber knew this was the public execution of his reputation, and he just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. His answers mostly went like his first reply,

“When I said that, I was in a conference being glib, and quite frankly trying to make myself seem smart by insulting others.”

And this one is a gem as well,

“I’m not a politician, and I was using inexcusable language to make myself sound smarter than I really am.”

But Gowdy wasn’t having it. He fired back with,

“The pervasiveness of your quotes is so much that it has to be more than that. It has to be more than an episodic mistake that you made,”

This is why we love Trey Gowdy. No one else can get on the floor and make his fellow congressmen shake with fear.

Gruber was falling on his sword every chance he got, but you can just sense the pleasure that Gowdy gets from pulling that sword out and using it himself many times over.
