You may have heard of Chip and Joanna Gaines from the popular TV show, ‘Fixer Upper’. The dynamic duo is incredibly talented and let’s be honest, they’re basically the cutest couple there ever was. But now, they’re opening up about their personal walk with God — and it’s incredibly encouraging. I love this!
HGTV’s hit show, Fixer Upper, gives viewers a day-in-the-life perspective of Chip and Joanna Gaines. The couple walk alongside prospective homebuyers as they select a house to be purchased and renovated. Once the home is purchased, the work begins.
Chip’s talented renovating expertise coupled with Joanna’s decorating vision and skills, truly transform these “fixer uppers” into beautiful homes designed specially to fit each family’s style and needs.
The talented couple first met at Baylor University, and for years, ran a home renovation and design company known as “Magnolia” before being approached by the successful cable network.
Chip and Joanna, also known affectionately as “Jojo”, have four children and reside in the great state of Texas.
In an exclusive interview with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the couple shared about their faith and the impact the successful TV show has had on their lives. The Gaines explained:
“Our family has made a commitment to put Christ first, a lifestyle our parents modeled for us very well. They showed us how to keep our marriage and family centered around God. As for “Fixer Upper”, we have been surprised at the impact of our faith through the show. We haven’t been overtly evangelical, but the rich feedback we have received on family and love all source from our faith. Jesus said the world would know His disciples by their love for one another, and we’ve glimpsed this in practice and strive for it every day.”
The couple has never shied away from sharing their faith, and back in April, Joanna filmed her testimony in a powerful video using her platform to share her hope in Christ:
We’re so grateful for Chip and Joanna’s mission to intentionally love everyone around them and for their unashamed faith in Jesus Christ.
