It was written in the Apostle John’s vision of Heaven in the book of Revelation, he saw “a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, surrounded the throne.” Surrounding the throne were 24 elders, seated on 24 thrones. “From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder.” In front of the throne was “what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal” (Revelation 4:2-6).
That description of Heaven is powerful. Could it be that God is trying to get our attention?! Could He be drawing us more unto Himself by giving us signs in the heavens of His soon-coming return?
It’s really possible. More than just possible—it’s likely. When photographer Greg McCown pointed his camera toward the sky, he wasn’t expecting to see this rare moment when a bolt of lightning struck near a rainbow in Marana, Arizona.
This is really amazing! Can you hear that God is calling out simultaneously through the skies to point to His mercy and his justice?
“The heavens are telling of the greatness of God and the great open spaces above show the work of His hands.” -Psalm 19:1
